Zouk Classes
Join us in our new studio in SOUL BALLROOM in Plymouth for weekly drop-in zouk classes. While the curriculum for these classes is progressive, classes are structured so you can drop in at any time (so you do not need to attend the whole month, or wait until the start of a new month to join).

Level 1
Tuesdays 9pm-10pm
no partner required!
No previous dance experience necessary.
If you’re new to zouk, or partner dancing in general, this is the class for you! Students will be introduced to the basics of Brazilian Zouk, including timing, frame & connection, and basic lead and follow technique. Students are encouraged to stay after class for the FREE practica (8:30pm-9:15pm) to keep practicing what they’ve learned.
Length of Curriculum*: ~2 months
Level 2
Tuesdays 8pm-19pm
Note: this class requires instructor approval to join, please reach out to us if you’re not a current student and would like to join!
Once you’ve got a handle on “the basics,” join Level 2 to continue to work on your frame and connection, and add more common zouk moves to your social dancing repertoire.
Level 2 students are welcome to stay and join Level 1 after for free (as well as the free practica!)
Length of Curriculum*: ~6 months
Level 3
Wednesdays 9pm-10pm
Note: this class has prerequisites and requires instructor approval to join (Level 3 prerequisites page is currently being updated)
Students with several months’ zouk experience can test in to Level 3 to work on refining their zouk leading/following technique. These classes emphasize improving your quality of movement as well as working on more challenging moves.
Students are encouraged to stay after class for the FREE practica (8:30pm-9:15pm) to keep practicing what they’ve learned.

Level 4
Wednesdays 8pm-9pm

For intermediate dancers who can show clear and comfortable lead/follow technique with all of the moves from the Level 3 curriculum.
Length of Curriculum*: ~12 months
* Note: “length of curriculum” does not mean “how long until you move to the next level.” Our prerequisites to move up to higher level classes are based on technique assessments, including having a strong grasp of leading/following all of the moves in the previous level.
